Even odder, there's a timer but you can't use it just to time something else in the kitchen. This little oven will bake cookies, toast various items, and generally work exactly as it should. Still, these are minor and this device works much better than others we have had before. I only works when you use the oven. My only complaint is with the buttons. Who ever heard of a toaster requiring you to hit more than one button to start toasting.
The timer is just a timer. It's big enough to accommodate an "Amy's No Cheese Pizza". One thing you ought to know is that it doesn't automatically shut off. I love my Cuisinart Toaster Oven. You have to turn off the oven when cooking is complete. It looks nice. It works perfectly. It's pretty easy to keep clean.
So if you dont hear the timer and turn it off then it will continue to cook. Holds 4 slices of bread no problem, its not wide enough to do 6 without some overlap.My only complaint is that if I set the timer when baking something, the temp does not turn off when the timer ends. I suppose my full size kitchen oven does the same thing.so not a big deal, just cant set it and forget it. Have had this for about 9 months now. It works great, has several options to cook just the way you want.
range oven on a hot day, for two small steaks.Biggest disadvantage: If you are toasting bread in successive batches, the preheating makes the oven shorten the toasting time. It's an excellent small oven - I do a lot of sear-roasting and this is much better than heating up a 4 cu.ft. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the settings a little, but this is a very minor inconvenience. Don't know if this model is still available, but I agree with other posters that this is a superior product. I hated our old DeLonghi and find this superior in every way.
I have ruined many a dinner. Anyway. but there are so many wrong things about this particular item. Lovely. I bought this product.
Dissatisfied beyond belief at this point. Buy something else. why don't we have the designers of this oven come and mop my floor now. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Just tonight. and it will live it's life out with me gingerly going about making dinner. Thanks a lot you miserable fricking designers for this wonderful feature. It's mine now.
and yes it does many of the right things. whatever. Mis L. because the rack inside is not secure and it falls out easily. trying my best to get dinner on the table was disappointed by the flaw that sent all of the asparagus to the floor.
